Each year SUMC honors the women of our congregation and the world by inviting a special guest speaker to our pulpit in May. Past Women’s Day Speakers have included Rev. Dr. Cynthia Wilson Dean of Students and Vice President of Student Affairs at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in 2012; Mrs. Jamell Meeks, first lady of Salem Baptist Church of Chicago in 2013; and Rev. Dr. Sally Dyck, Bishop of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church in 2014.

Rev. M. Watkins-BranchOur guest preacher For Women’s Day 2015 is the Reverend Michelle Watkins-Branch.  Rev. Watkins-Branch is a provisional Elder in  the Northern IL Conference and a Clergy Intern at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Chicago, IL.   Rev. Watkins-Branch holds a Master of Divinity degree from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary and is working towards the completion of her PhD in the area of Historical and Ethical Studies.

Worship Service begins at 10:30 am.  A reception will follow the service.  The Women of Sherman are asked to make a sacrificial gift of $125.00.
