Our own Tramaine Parker will be performing in a recital on May 21st. The recital starts at 3:00 pm at St. John Church Baptist (4821 S. Michigan Ave. Chicago, IL).
Tramaine will also perform in War and Peace presented by the Floating Opera Company.
- The performances will take place on May 27th, 7:30pm at Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church(600 West Fullerton Avenue),
- May 28th, 2:30pm and May 29th, 7:30 pm at The Chicago Temple(77 West Washington) in Chicago.

Annual Conference information
The 178th Annual Conference will be held June 4-6 at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Ill. The theme is “Light Shines Through…” Legislation and Historical reports are due April 1 and should be emailed to Katie Voigt at ACdocuments@umcnic.org. Online registration opens April 6. The early bird cost is $80 through April 28. On April 29 the cost increases to $95. After May 20 registration will only be onsite at $130. Hotel reservations may be made at Pheasant Run through May 10. The rate remains $119 + tax. Display Tables applications are due May 19. Cost is $25 per table and $45 for table with electrical outlet. Taste of Sherman
This year Sherman United Methodist Church will hold a new fundraiser “Taste of Sherman” a community dinner where each ministry will be offering ‘tasting portions’ of a variety of dishes. The event will be held on July 15, 2017 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm in Winfield Hall. Tickets are $10.00 in advance. We are counting on each person working to make this a fun and successful Fund Raising Event! Choose a ministry to join and work with that ministry!

God’s Prophets Demand Justice: Seven prophets (Amos, Micah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Zechariah, and Malachi) look at perpetrators of injustice, the nature of injustice and victims of injustice and ends with repentance, redemption, and restoration.
